Garage Screens in Taupo, Turangi, Tokoroa and National Park
Elite Garage Screens covers the central North Island, including Taupo, Turangi, Tokoroa and National Park. We fit retractable Lifestyle garage screen doors, and the listed timing for this part of our coverage is 1-2 days notice. Because every opening is a little different, we do not ship a boxed product and leave you to it. We measure, cut the frame on site, assemble it there and fit the screen, usually in a few hours. This page covers what happens on the day, what warranty you get, and how the screen fits into everyday use. If you would like the full sequence first, read how it works; if you are ready, request a quote. For a sense of finish and colour, have a look through the gallery.
Built on site, not shipped in a box
The frame is cut and assembled at your place so that it suits your actual opening rather than a standard size. That is why we ask for the trim-to-trim width, the trim-to-floor height and your head-room up front: those figures tell us what to bring and whether your door needs anything extra, such as the kit used with low-headroom tracks.
On the day, the work usually takes a few hours. The screen is spring-loaded, so once it is in you pull it down when you want it and let it retract when you do not. Locks are available for the frame and the retractable personal-access door if you want to secure the screen.
Warranty and parts
Each screen is made from quality USA-produced parts. The product carries a 5-year warranty, and our installation carries a 12-month warranty. Those two warranties are separate, so the screen itself and the way we fitted it are each covered.
Behind the work is a family-operated business with more than 20 years in the building industry, across new builds and renovations, that now specialises in garage screens. You choose the finish: a White, Sandstone or Dark Brown frame, with White privacy mesh or Super Black see-through mesh. Both meshes are pet-proof.
Living with a screen door
Day to day, the screen is designed for weatherproof operation and works with your existing garage door. Leave the door up and the screen down for an airy, pest-free garage, then retract the screen when it is time to bring the car in. In between, the garage can double as a workshop, home gym or entertaining space. You will lose about 30 mm of head-room, more if your door uses a double-track low-headroom system.
