Retractable Garage Door Screens in Wellington
Elite Garage Screens fits retractable garage door screens for homes in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua. The listed timing for the Wellington Region is same day or next. The screen is a Lifestyle spring-loaded screen door that sits inside the garage opening and works with your existing door rather than replacing it, so nothing about how you open and close the garage has to change. Below we cover how the screen is designed to handle the weather, the locks available for the frame and personal-access door, and the small amount of head-room you give up. To book, request a quote or call 021 849931 (Mon–Fri 9–4, Sat 10–2). You can also read our FAQs or the garage screen door cost guide.
Designed for weatherproof operation
The screen is built for weatherproof operation, and because it is retractable you decide when it is out. Pull it down when you want fresh air through the garage; let it retract when you would rather close up. The garage door itself carries on doing its normal job.
With the screen down the garage stays airy and pest-free, which makes it a practical workshop, home gym or entertaining space without leaving the door wide open to insects. Each screen uses quality USA-produced parts, and we are proud installers of Lifestyle Screens. Not sure your Hutt Valley or Porirua address is covered? Call during business hours, Mon–Fri 9–4 or Sat 10–2.
Security and access
Locks are available for both the frame and the retractable personal-access door. If you plan to use the garage as a gym or workshop with the main door up, that lets you keep the screen secured while you are in and out.
Choose White mesh if you want privacy from passers-by, or Super Black mesh if you prefer a see-through view. Both are pet-proof, and frames come in White, Sandstone or Dark Brown. The gallery is a good place to compare finishes. Mention whether you want locks when you request a quote.
Head-room and fit
Most sectional garage doors with standard horizontal tracks take the screen. Fitting it uses roughly 30 mm of head-room, a little more on a double-track low-headroom system, and low-headroom tracks may need an extra kit. Head-room is measured from the ceiling to the lowest part of the trim above the opening. Width is measured trim to trim and height trim to floor, which together give the Daylight Opening.
Once we have your measurements, the frame is cut and assembled on site and the installation usually takes a few hours. Every install carries a 5-year product warranty and a 12-month installation warranty. See how it works for the step-by-step.
